India, Russia Sign 30 MoUs To Promote Trade And Investments

Mumbai: FICCI President Sandeep Somani said on Thursday that India and Russia have signed 30 memorandum during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to promote trade and investment.

He said that industry leaders from both countries want trade relations to take a giant leap.

Speaking to ANI, Somani said, “The visit has been good. A total of 30 MoUs were signed, 16 of which were in the private sector and the rest in government.”

He said, “Relations between India and Russia are growing. Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin want these strategic and friendly relations that we have for more than 70 years to go into another trajectory,” he said said.

Coal India Chairman Anil Kumar Jha said that India is interested in acquiring coal mines in the Far East region of Russia. The extracted coal can be transported to India to make steel.

Medanta co-founder Sunil Sachdeva said that India and Russia can cooperate in the healthcare sector.

They have developed a sensor through which we can feel brain stroke with a drop of blood. Every year, we have 1.5 million people in India with brain stroke. If we can save some lives, it will be good, ”he said.

India and Russia signed several agreements on military and technical cooperation, energy and science, LNG and natural gas.
