India Scripts History: PM As He Congratulates Droupadi Murmu On Being Elected President

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated and congratulated Draupadi Murmu on being elected the new President of the country.

BJP national president JP Nadda was also present at his residence.

PM Modi also took to Twitter and wrote, “India scripts history. At a time when 1.3 billion Indians are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a daughter of India hailing from a tribal community born in a remote part of eastern India has been elected our President! Congratulations to Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji on this feat.”

“Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji has been an outstanding MLA and Minister. She had an excellent tenure as Jharkhand Governor. I am certain she will be an outstanding President who will lead from the front and strengthen India’s development journey (sic),” he added.

“I would like to thank all thothe MPs and MLAs across party lines who have supported the candidature of Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji. Her record victory augurs well for our democracy,” he added.

BJP-led NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu is set to be elected as the 15th President of India and has already secured 50 per cent of the total value of valid votes at the end of the third round of counting.

There is an atmosphere of celebration over the victory of Draupadi Murmu in Rairangpur village of Odisha, the birthplace of NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.
A huge crowd gathered outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi to celebrate this evening.

Murmu was also leading in the first two rounds of counting.

According to reports, 17 MPs have cross-voted in favor of Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election.

The counting began at Parliament House at 11 am. The Presidential election was held on July 18.
