India Sees 10,549 New COVID-19 Cases, 488 Deaths In The Last 24 Hours

Mumbai: The Union Health Ministry said on Friday that 10,549 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in India in the last 24 hours. With this, the active cases have gone up to 1,10,133.

The active caseload is now less than 1 per cent of the total cases, which is currently 0.32 per cent, the lowest since March 2020.

According to the Ministry of Health, 9,868 patients have been cured of the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of people recovering in the country has increased to 3,39,77,830. The recovery rate is 98.33 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 488 people have succumbed to the COVID-19 infection in the country.

“The daily positivity rate (0.89 per cent) for the last 53 days is less than 2 per cent. The weekly positivity rate (0.89 per cent) is less than 1 per cent for the last 12 days,” the ministry said.

A total of 63.71 crore tests have been done so far. 120.27 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given so far under the National Immunization Campaign.
