India Sees 2.55 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases, Over 50,000 Less Than Yesterday
Mumbai: India has reported 2,55,874 new COVID-19 cases and 614 deaths in the last 24 hours. This comes a day after the country saw 3,06,064 cases and 439 deaths.
The data, updated at 8 am, said the death toll has risen to 4,90,462 with 614 deaths reported daily.
The ministry said the active cases have come down to 22,36,842 and comprise 5.62 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has come down to 93.15 per cent.
A decrease of 12,493 cases has been recorded from the active cases in the 24-hour period.
According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 15.52 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 17.17 per cent.
It added that the number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 3,70,71,898, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.23 per cent.
The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far is over 162.92 crore.
