India Sees 34,973 New COVID-19 Cases; Active Cases Constitute 1.18% Of Total Cases
Mumbai: India recorded 34,973 new COVID-19 cases and 260 deaths in the last 24 hours, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
Of these, Kerala recorded 26,200 new cases and 114 deaths. The health ministry said that India’s active caseload stands at 3,90,646, which is 1.18 per cent of the total cases.
The weekly positivity rate is 2.31 percent. It is less than 3 per cent for the last 77 days. The daily positivity rate is 1.96 percent. It is less than 3 per cent for the last 11 days. With the new cases reported today, the cumulative number of cases reported across the country has gone up to 3,31,74,954.
Right now the recovery rate is 97.49 percent. The total recovery and death toll across the country now stands at 3,23,42,299 and 4,42,009 respectively. A total of 53.86 crore tests have been conducted so far since the start of the pandemic last year.
In the ongoing nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive, 72.37 crore vaccine doses have been administered to eligible beneficiaries so far.
