India Sees 6,990 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours, Lowest In 551 Days

Mumbai: India has reported 6,990 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest rise in daily cases in the past 551 days. The country also reported 190 deaths, taking the death toll to 4,68,980.

In the last 24 hours, the country reported 10,116 recoveries. With this, the total recovery has gone up to 3,40,18,299. Right now the recovery rate is 98.35 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.

The daily positivity rate is 0.69 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.84 per cent.

Over 10 lakh samples were tested for COVID-19 across the country in the last 24 hours, informed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday.

With this, the total number of samples tested for coronavirus infection in the country so far is 64,13,03,848, which includes 10,12,523 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, over 123.25 (1,23,25,02,767) crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the ministry said.
