India Sees Rise In COVID Cases & Deaths With 41,965 Infections, 460 Casualties

Mumbai: India has reported 41,965 COVID-19 cases and 460 deaths in the last 24 hours. This comes a day after the country reported 30,941 cases and 350 deaths.

Kerala accounted for 72% of the new cases as it reported 30,203 cases and 115 deaths on Tuesday.

With the addition of new cases, India’s active caseload reached 3,78,181, which is 1.15 per cent of the total cases. Presently the daily positivity rate is 2.61 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 33,964 patients have been cured of the viral disease across the country, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,19,93,644. Right now the recovery rate is 97.51 percent.

With 460 fatalities, the COVID death toll in the country reached 4,39,020.

Notably, out of the total new cases reported in the country, Kerala recorded 30,203 new COVID cases and 115 deaths on Tuesday.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested so far is 52,31,84,293 crore. Out of which 16,06,785 samples have been tested on Tuesday.

Under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign, India has so far distributed over 65.41 crore vaccine doses.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 18.3 crore doses have been administered in August.
