India Sees Slight Dip In New COVID-19 Cases As 3.37 Lakh Test Positive

The ministry said that since Friday there has been an increase of 3.69 per cent in cases of Omicron

Mumbai: India saw a slight dip in new COVID-19 cases as 3,37,704 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With these countries, the COVID-19 tally rose to 3,89,03,731.

Meanwhile, the country’s tally of Omicron infections also increased by 3.69% to stand at 10,050

Active cases have risen to 21,13,365, the highest in 237 days, while the death toll has risen to 4,88,884 with 488 fresh deaths, data updated at 8 am.

The ministry said that since Friday there has been an increase of 3.69 per cent in cases of Omicron.

Active cases comprise 5.43 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has come down to 93.31 per cent, the ministry said.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 17.22 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 16.65 per cent.

The data said that so far 71.34 crore tests have been conducted and 19,60,954 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.

To date, 161.16 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given, it said.
