India Slams Pakistan, Rejects Baseless Charges After Train Hijack That Killed 25

Mumbai: India has strongly refuted Pakistan’s claims that New Delhi is responsible for the escalating violence in Balochistan, where a recent train hijacking by Baloch rebels has left the region in turmoil. In a firm statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the allegations as “baseless” and urged Pakistan to focus on internal challenges rather than shifting blame.
India Slams Pakistan Over Terrorism Allegations
The response came after Pakistan accused India of “sponsoring terrorism” and destabilizing its neighboring countries. The accusations followed a dramatic hijacking of the Jaffar Express by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The siege, which lasted 30 hours, resulted in the deaths of 21 hostages and four security personnel.
“We strongly reject the baseless allegations made by Pakistan. The whole world knows where the epicenter of global terrorism lies. Pakistan should look inwards instead of pointing fingers and shifting the blame for its own internal problems and failures,” the MEA statement read.
Pakistan Blames External Forces for BLA Attack
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, claimed that the attack was orchestrated from abroad and stated that the BLA rebels were in communication with handlers based in Afghanistan throughout the train hijacking.
When questioned about whether Pakistan had altered its stance on India’s alleged involvement, Khan clarified, “There is no shift in our policy. Our accusations against India still hold. In this particular incident, we have traced calls to Afghanistan.”
Escalating Violence in Balochistan
Balochistan, the largest and most resource-rich province of Pakistan, has been a hotbed of insurgency for decades. Armed groups, including the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), have been demanding independence, citing forced integration into Pakistan during the 1947 Partition. The region has witnessed a surge in violent attacks in recent months, with Baloch rebels targeting security forces and Chinese-funded infrastructure projects.
Pakistan has long blamed external forces, particularly India and Afghanistan, for supporting the insurgency. However, reports indicate that deep-seated grievances, alleged human rights violations, enforced disappearances, and lack of economic development have fueled the unrest.
India’s Firm Stance on Pakistan’s Accusations
India has consistently maintained that Pakistan harbors and supports terrorist organizations, many of which have been responsible for cross-border attacks. New Delhi has urged the international community to hold Islamabad accountable for providing safe havens to terror groups.
With the latest hijacking incident intensifying tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations, diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan remain strained. Analysts warn that the ongoing conflict in Balochistan could have broader implications for regional stability.
