India Surpasses Italy To Reach 5th Position On Global COVID-19 Deaths Chart

Mumbai: India has replaced Italy to occupy a fifth place among the world’s most hit countries in terms of the number of coronavirus deaths. 

John Hopkins University reported that 779 deaths were recorded in India on Friday, causing 35,747 deaths in the country.

Meanwhile, the overall match remained in critical condition with over 1.6 million cases.

The country has so far reported 16,38,870 instances of coronavirus infection, an increase of 55,000 cases. This is the highest single-day tally for the second consecutive day and includes a total number of foreigners.

According to the latest information, Italy has a fatal condition of 35,132 as it reached the sixth position. Countries ahead of India on the global COVID-19 deaths chart (from above) include the United States (152,070), Brazil (91,263), the United Kingdom (46,084), and Mexico (46,000).

India also ranks third after the US and Brazil – on the hierarchy of the world’s most hit countries due to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, India’s coronavirus crossed the 16 lakh mark on Friday, with the highest one-day spike of 55,079 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported.
