India Was Better Than Us In Every Department, Says Faf du Plessis After Defeat

Mumbai: After facing a huge defeat against India in second test match South Africa skipper Faf Du Plessis has admitted that India was better than them in every department.

“Overall, India has been better than us in every department. If you look at the team in terms of test cap and experience and they have the numbers in terms of average on the board, where we need to rise above a team,” Plessis Said in the press conference after the match.

He said, “If you look at the batting perspective if you look at the number of things, it is not good enough.”
India won the match by 137 runs and an innings. With this win, India sealed the 3-match Test series as they lead 2–0.

“I felt it was a good cricket wicket to bat on in the first innings and on the fact that we didn’t get more than 400 runs on that wicket and especially the way they batted, it was always a good one to climb after that. Was going to be a huge mountain, “Plessis said.

After the retirement of players like Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers. The captain said that any team will face challenges if their ‘best player’ is thrown out.

He said, “It’s complete inexperience. The best Test teams are teams with experienced players. One day cricket and T20 cricket are different. This Indian team is experienced. There are plenty of experienced players in the dressing room.”

“We are at a stage where we have lost most of our veteran players. Stein, Morkel, Amla and de Villiers; all those players were season campaigners.”

Plessis said, “And now this is a new group of people who have played 10 to 15 matches. It will take time. You can’t change those guys overnight. If you take out the best players, any team Will face challenges.”
