India Win 2 Test In A Series In Australia For 1st Time After 40 Years

Mumbai : India V/S Australia, India defeated Australia by 137 runs in 3rd test match at MCG on Sunday took 2-1 lead in 4 match test series.

Since 1977-98 this is the first time ever India have won two matches in Test series in a Australia. Moving ahead the victory was India 26th in 45 matches under Virat Kohli captaincy.

Batting first team India scored 443, with help of brilliant batting performance by debutante Mayank Agarwal scoring 76 runs of 161 balls with 47.20 strike rate following Cheteshwar Pujara scoring his second century of the series 106 runs of 319 balls with the strike rate of 33.22. On the other hand leading from the front inform batsman captain Virat Kohli played a good knock of 82 runs of 204 balls with the strike rate of 40.19, whereas Rohit Sharma contributed well scored 63 runs of 114 balls. For Australia Pat Cummins took 3 wickets with 2.11 economy.

Batting second Australia, poor performance continued by opener Aron Finch lost his wicket scoring just 8 runs following rest of them not scored much which resulted Australia got All out at 151 runs, Jasprit Bumarh took 6 wickets in 15.5 overs with 2.08 economy.

India where ahead with 292 runs decided not to give follow on, but Australia back with there bowling attack and restricted India at just 106 with the loss of 8 wickets and captain Kohli decided to declare. And set the target of 399 runs.
