Indian Army Issues Notification For ‘Agnipath’ Recruitment; Registrations Start From July

Mumbai: The Indian Army on Monday issued a recruitment rally notification for Agniveers’ recruitment under the Agnipath scheme, stating that the registrations will begin from July 2022. The Army said the online registration on the force’s recruitment website is mandatory for all the job aspirants under the new model.

The notification said that the online registration will start in July. The army said that ‘Agnivar’ will create a separate rank in the Indian Army, which will be different from any existing rank.

In a detailed note on the plan, the Army said last night that under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 ‘Agniveers’ would be barred from disclosing classified information received to any unauthorized person or source during the four-year service period.

With the introduction of this scheme, enrollment of soldiers in the regular cadre of the Indian Army, except technical cadres of the medical branch, will be available only to that person who have completed their period of engagement as Agniveers.

The Army stated that the release of an Agniveer on its own request is not allowed before the conditions of the engagement are fulfilled. “However, in most exceptional cases, the personnel enrolled under the scheme may be released on approval by the competent authority,” it said.

The Army said the new recruits would be subject to the provisions of the Army Act, 1950 and would be liable to travel anywhere by land, sea or air. It said Agniveers would continue to wear “distinctive insignia” on his uniform during his service period and detailed instructions on this would be issued separately.

Based on organizational requirements and policies, the Army said that on completion of the period of engagement in each batch, ‘Agniveer’ would be provided with an opportunity to apply for enrollment in the regular cadre.

“These applications will be considered by the Army in a centralized manner on the basis of objective criteria, including performance during the period of their engagement and not exceeding 25 per cent of each elite batch of Agniveers from the regular cadre. his four years. will not be recorded. period of engagement,” according to the document issued by the Army.

“The firefighters enrolled as regular cadre shall be required to serve for a further engagement period of 15 years and shall be governed by the terms and conditions of service (of Junior Commissioned Officer/another rank) in force at present,” it said. The Agniveers will not have any right of selection after the completion of their four-year term.

As part of the enrollment process, each Agnipath has to formally accept all the terms and conditions of the ‘Agnipath’ scheme. As per the document, the enrollment form for personnel below the age of 18 will need to be signed by a parent or guardian. Agniveers will be eligible for 30 days leave in a year as against 90 days for those in regular service. Medical leave will be granted on the basis of medical advice.
