Indian Nationals Screened At Riyadh Airport; Will Reach Kozhikode Soon: Vande Bharat Mission

Mumbai: Around 150 Indian nationals were screened at Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia before boarding flight for Kerala.

‘Vande Bharat’ is an ambitious mission for India as it will bring around 15000 stranded citizens from all over the world back to the country.

On Friday 5 flights will arrive from Singapore, Bangladesh, and some counties from Middle east carrying stranded Indian nationals.

Flight to bring back stranded people in Riyadh Saudi Arabia was scheduled to depart at 12.45 pm from Kozhikode, Kerala and arrive back at 8.30 pm.

On Thursday evening, two flights from UAE carrying 354 passengers took off from Abu Dhabi and Dubai to Kochi and Kozhikode respectively.

Those boarding flights will have to take a rapid COVID-19 test and will be quarantined for 14 days at several Navy bases in India.

Over 67 flights will take off from 12 countries to bring 15000 stranded Indian nationals.

According to ANI, over 3 Lakh people have registered in Indian Missions in Gulf countries to be back home.
