India’s COVID Recovery Rate Is 64.54 Percent: Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan

Mumbai: Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan said on Friday that India’s COVID-19 recovery rate is now 64.54 percent.

“In the last 24 hours, we have crossed 1 million patients who have recovered from COVID-19. Today we have 10, 57,805 people who have now recovered. The total number of cases across the country is now 16,38,870 cases, “Dr. Harshvardhan said in a meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) here.

He said, “Two-thirds of the cases have been recovered and gone home. The death rate is also decreasing and today it is 2.18 percent. The recovery rate has improved to 64.54 per cent. The doubling rate is right now standing at 21 days.”

Vardhan said 6,42,588 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours and close to 1 crore have been tested in the country in the last one month.

The Union Health Minister said that 0.27 per cent of the patients were on ventilators, 1.58 per cent were in ICU and 2.28percentt needed some form of oxygen support.
