Indoor Gathering In Punjab Restricted To 100 People, Outdoor To 200 From March 1

Mumbai: Amid growing concern over the rising COVID-19 trend in Punjab, CM Amarinder Singh has ordered restriction on indoor gathering to 100 and outdoor to 200 persons from March 1.

According to the new guidelines, from March 1, 100 people are allowed to gather indoors and 200 outside. The test will also be 30,000 a day.

Singh chaired a high-level virtual meeting today and authorized district collectors to adopt night-time curfew in their respective districts by adopting a micro-control strategy.

The CM directed the police to strictly enforce the face masks, notification of COVID-19 monitor, all restaurants, wedding venues etc. with the State Excise and Taxation Department as the nodal agency.

The Chief Minister, however, said that the decision to reduce occupation in theatres would be taken after March 1. Meanwhile, private offices and restaurants now have to display details of the final tests conducted for all employees.

An official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said “Captain Amarinder Singh ordered mandatory testing of 15 contacts per positive case with monitoring by CPTO and review by Health Department.”

Amarinder also reviewed the vaccination status, underlining the need to launch a campaign to promote 100% coverage of health care and border workers. He directed the state Health Department to develop a strategy for the roll-out of the vaccine for the elderly population and people with comradeship.
