Industries Shut Due To Coronavirus To Give Salary To Their Employees: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath

Mumbai: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday ordered industries to pay salaries to their employees, even if they were shut down due to the nationwide lockout in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Adityanath said, “Companies that have been closed during the lockdown period will have to pay their employees’ salaries.”

He ordered government officials to search for daily wage labourers and poor people and “give each of the 1000 rupees out of the government’s pocket.”

“I request homeowners not to take rent from their tenants who are poor or daily wage labourers,” he said, adding that “electricity and water will not be cut off, even if people are not able to pay their bills.”

Giving assurance to the people living here, the Chief Minister said, “The government will ensure that everyone gets food, drinking water and medicines from wherever they are.”

“The authorities need to take care of the daily and economic needs of the workers of other states so that they do not feel the need to migrate to their respective states,” he said.
