IPL 13: If Anyone Can Bounce Back, This Is The Team: Irfan Pathan On CSK
Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan said that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has the ability to make it despite being at the bottom of the points table in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs.
On Monday, 19 October, the team captained by MS Dhoni lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
However, Irfan said that Dhoni has the material to make a comeback, taking into account his pressure experience over the years.
“If anyone can bounce back from seventh or eighth place, that’s the team, CSK. CSK knows very well how to handle players, they make players very comfortable. In 2015 I was part of that team. It’s all about the players, ”Pathan told Star Sports.
“This franchise has been known to run cricket for 21–22 years. Even in the Chennai League, they run the team in the same way. It’s all about players. You go out and perform, we will back you up,” he stated.
“We know that CSK has been good in the last few years, this year Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina had no problems, as well as some injuries. But still, we hope, just because they have a good captain, Dhoni, who had so much success in IPL cricket, that he will make the team even further than the situation he is in at the moment, ”Irfan he said.
CSK is next scheduled to face Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday, October 23 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
