IPL 2020 Postponed Due To Coronavirus Pandemic, To Start On April 15
Mumbai: IPL 2020, which was scheduled to begin on March 29, has been pushed back to April 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision was taken after the government advised the organisers to not conduct IPL at this time.
“The BCCI is concerned and sensitive about all its stakeholders, and public health in general, and it is taking all necessary steps to ensure that, all people related to IPL including fans have a safe cricketing experience,” officials said in a statement.

“The BCCI will work closely with the Government of India along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and all other relevant Central and State Government departments in this regard,” they added.
India has reported one death due to coronavirus and 75 confirmed cases of the virus so far.
