IPL 2022: Mitchell Starc, Sam Curran, Chris Gayle Don’t Register For Mega Auction, Opts Out Of T20 League
Mumbai: West Indies opener Chris Gayle, Australia pacer Mitchell Starc and England all-rounder Ben Stokes have not registered themselves for the mega auction ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran are also not available for auction. Australian opener David Warner, India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has kept their base price at Rs 2 crore. Other players who have listed their base price as INR 2 Crore – Pat Cummins (Australia), Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh), Trent Boult (NZ), Steve Smith (Australia), Quinton de Kock (South Africa), Kagiso Rabada (South Africa), reported ESPNcricinfo. India all-rounder Shah Rukh Khan, who has impressed yet another ball with his antics in domestic cricket, has listed his base price as INR 20 lakh and is expected to get a bigger number at the auction.
Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Aaron Finch, Eoin Morgan, David Malan, Tim Southee and James Neesham have kept their base price at Rs 1.5 crore. Ajinkya Rahane, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan, Wanindu Hasaranga, Aiden Markram and Tabrez Shamsi have a base price listed as INR 1 Crore.
IPL player registration closed on January 20 and a total of 1,214 players (896 Indians and 318 foreigners) have signed up to be a part of the 2022 player auction. In the two-day mega auction, 10 teams will bid for some of the best talent in world cricket. The list of players includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 assists.
