Italian Sikh Community Objects The Anand Karaj Ceremony Performed At Ranveer Deepika’s Wedding

Pune : Recently we witnessed the formation of another celeb couple Ranveer and Deepika who got married at Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como in Italy. But somehow, one of the ceremony didn’t go as per Italian Sikh community henceforth giving birth to controversy.

Setting perfect couple goals, DeepVeer are back from Italy as husband wife after performing a full fledged wedding in Konkani and Sindhi ceremonies. Social media also got no chills while discussing about the wedding, but one of the ceremonies names Anand Karaj went wrong with the rituals and Italian Sikh community objected it. Talking about the ceremony, it means “Blissful union” and is performed in the Gurudwara halls for prayers during the day time, where the Bride sits on the left of the groom while both face the Guru Granth Sahib. In the Deep Veer wedding, the Guru Granth Sahib was moved from the Gurudwara and hence the ritual wasn’t performed at the holy place which was objectionable by the community.

As per the Akal Takht ‘hukumnama’ reads, Guru Granth Sahib is strictly prohibited to be moved from the Gurudwara as informed by the Sukhdev Singh Kang, the President of Indian Sikh Community, Italy. He further stated to the tribune, “It was a major lapse on the part of the gurudwara management”, as a “hazoori raagi” from golden temple, Bhai Narinder Singh came to Italy from Amritsar for the ceremony.
