Jammu: 4 Suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists Killed In Encounter Near Ban Toll Plaza

Mumbai: Security has been increased in Nagrota, bordering the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway as four militants were expelled during an encounter near the Ben toll plaza. A constable allegedly suffered injuries in the exchange of fire. The highway has been closed for regular traffic.

“The four terrorists that were neutralized in the encounter at Ban toll plaza are likely from Jaish-e-Mohammed. They used old modus operandi and had recently infiltrated the Indian side. An investigation is underway,” news agency ANI cited sources as saying.

According to initial reports, three-four terrorists were traveling in a truck which was stopped by security personnel at the Ban Toll Plaza. They opened fire on security forces during the search operation. The operation lasted for two hours.

Flames appeared to emanate from the site of the encounter and sources said the trucks were involved in the blaze during the terrorist act. Security was also tightened in Udhampur as the encounter was going on.
