Jharkhand Reports 101 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 More Deaths

Mumbai: A Health Department official said on Wednesday that Jharkhand’s COVID-19 tally was increased to 1,17,887 as 101 more people tested positive for infection.

He said that due to the infection of three more patients in the last 24 hours, the state’s coronavirus death toll rose to 1,057.

Ranchi district recorded the maximum number of 53 new cases, followed by Dhanbad (16) and Bokaro (9).

The official said that in Jharkhand, there are now 1,147 active cases of COVID-19, while 1,15,683 people have been cured of the disease.

He said that the state has tested 13,886 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Another health official said that in the meantime, 2,749 health workers were vaccinated at 48 centres across the state on Tuesday.

Eight of them complained of adverse events after Emulation (AEFI), but none needed a hospital, he said.

The official said that 3,200 health workers were vaccinated on the first day of the nationwide vaccination campaign and 2,964 people were vaccinated on Monday.
