‘Kala Kanoon’ By PM Modi Will Destroy Existing Farming Structure In India: Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said here on Tuesday that the Congress ‘Khati Bachao Yatra’ is against the ‘Kala kanoon’ (black law) that destroys the existing infrastructure of agriculture in the country.

“Our visit is against the three ‘kaala kanoon’ (laws which bring darkness) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These laws will destroy the existing structure of farming and food security in the country. Punjab and Haryana will be affected the most. If this structure breaks, Punjab will not find a way out in the future,” Gandhi said at a press conference here.

Gandhi slammed the Modi government for other steps like Goods and Services Tax (GST), demonetization.

He said, “Just as Modi first did demonetize, followed by GST and then did not extend a helping hand to farmers, workers, small businesses during the Corona crisis, similarly these agricultural laws are also an attack on farmers.”

Gandhi launched the ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ in Punjab on Sunday in protest against the recently implemented agricultural reform laws by the Center. Wayanad Member of Parliament visited various parts of the state and addressed rallies besides participating in roadshows in protest against the laws.

He has been asked to come to Haryana and do roadshows and participate in rallies against the laws.

The conference was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and party leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Harish Rawat, and Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar.
