Kangana Summoned In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case, Calls Herself ‘Lioness’
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by a Mumbai court in a defamation case filed against her by lyricist Javed Akhtar.
The veteran poet had filed a defamation suit against Kangana for making defamatory statements against him on several news channels.
He claimed that she unnecessarily dragged his name in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput during an interview.

The actor was summoned by the Mumbai Magistrate Court on Monday 1 February 2021; Now, Kangana will have to appear in court on 1 March 2021.
Soon after she was summoned, Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter account to react on the same.
She wrote it will be fun to see a pack of jackals with one lioness. “Geedaron ka ek jhund aur ek sherni . mazaa aayega”, wrote Kangana while sharing an article of her summon.

The court was told on Monday that the charges against Kangana have been put up for further investigation. The report included the statements of a general witness, a doctor, who also testified that the actor allegedly had no such conversation in the interview.
The lawyer also informed the court and submitted the video clip of the interview to show the court how much viewership the video garnered.
Javed Akhtar has asked for a defamation case to be registered against Kangana Ranaut under IPC sections 499 and 500.
