Mumbai: Police said a 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by two men in a village in the Sachendi area of Kanpur district.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when the girl went outside a farm to participate in nature’s call, said Ashok Kumar, in-charge of Sachin’s police station.
He said that two men identified as Govind Balmiki and 30-year-old Ajay alias Shiva-Bodhan raped her.
The girl somehow managed to reach home and told her parents about the incident, she said, adding that the police lodged an FIR under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences act on the parent’s complaint on Friday.

Kumar said the victim’s medical examination was done at the Community Health Center, Kalyanpur, but the report has not yet been received.
Deputy Inspector General of Police of Kanpur Range, Dr. Preetinder Singh said that the police took prompt action and arrested the accused.
