Karan Johar Was On Lawrence Bishnoi’s Target List, Confirms Gang Member Sourav Mahakal

Mumbai: In the latest development in the investigation into a threat letter sent to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his father and writer, Salim Khan, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, during police interrogation, revealed that celebrity and filmmaker Karan Johar was also on their hit list.

Following the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala in Jawaharke village of Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29 and threatening letters to Salman Khan, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members came under the police radar.

As the investigation progressed, several people were arrested from different parts of the country.

Those arrested include Siddhesh Kamble alias Saurav Mahakal. He was arrested on June 9 in a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act in a joint operation by Delhi Police and Maharashtra Police.

According to a police officer, Mahakal revealed during interrogation that apart from Salman Khan and Salim, Karan Johar was also the target of the Bishnoi gang.

A police officer said the gangster told investigators that they were planning to target filmmaker Karan Johar for extortion.

Mahakal told the police that the gang had planned to extort Rs 5 crore by threatening Karan Johar. However, the police officer also said that there is a possibility that Mahakal may be bragging in his statements and claiming to have misled the police in the investigation.

Earlier on June 14, a team of Haryana Police reached Pune city of Maharashtra and questioned shooters Santosh Jadhav and Siddhesh Kamble alias Mahakal about gangster Vikram Brar in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who is wanted in some cases in Haryana. Brar, who is currently believed to be abroad, Mahakal, and Jadhav are members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Mahakal Lawrence worked for the Bishnoi and committed the crime in Moga, Punjab on the instructions of Lawrence. He used to work in close coordination with the suspected main shooter of the Sidhu Moose Wala case. Mahakal was also involved in an attempt to murder recently in a case registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
