Karnataka Floods: “Would Request Centre To Release Rs 10,000 Crore,” BS Yediyurappa

Mumbai: Karnataka Floods have disrupted normal life in a state as many as 48 people have lost their lives.

Meanwhile, newly elected chief minister BS Yeddiyurappa said that state has faced the loss of around Rs 50,000.

“Situation is very bad. Home Minister Amit Shah & Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also conducted an inspection. Loss of over 50,000 cr in the state. On 16th Aug, I’m going to Delhi to meet PM regarding this,” Yediyurappa said.

States like Belagavi and Shivamogga have been completely destroyed by floods.

BS Yediyurappa also requested the center to release Rs 10,000 Crore immediately for the development of the state.

“Today I will meet local MLAs in Shivamogga and discuss the situation. I request Government of India to release 10,000 crores immediately,” he added.

As many as 1,224 relief camps are currently operational in the state with 3,93,956 people taking shelter in them.

The floods have also resulted in heavy loss of livestock with 767 animals reported dead.
