Kartarpur Pilgrims And Tourist To Boost Pakistan Earning As They Will Earn INR 259 Crore Per Annum

Mumbai: Kartarpur, the final resting place of Sikh religion founder Guru Nanak Dev is the pilgrim for Sikh people. And Pakistan is expecting to earn $365,00,000 per annum from Kartarpur pilgrims visiting the Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.

As Pakistan is going from economic pressure and seeking help from the world community to raise its fund, this thing will give them a sigh of relief as Pakistan is expecting to earn 555 crore Pakistani rupees per annum. 5000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit daily and it will earn 1,00,000 USD (approximately 71 lakh) every day.

As per reports, India and Pakistan signed a pact to ensure a smooth journey of pilgrims through the Kartarpur Corridor. New Delhi has asked Islamabad to review the fee of $20 in the future. According to the ‘dos and don’ts’ released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the travelers will be allowed to carry a maximum of Rs 11,000. Children below 13 years and elderly persons of about 75 years must travel in groups, the advisory says.The online portal prakashpurb550.mha.gov.in went live on Thursday.

Some of the basics are as follows.

  1. The pilgrims will have to register online and select a date of their choice for the travel.
  2. They will be informed three days in advance and the pilgrims will have to carry Electronic Travel Authorisation, along with their passports, when they arrive at the Passenger Terminal Building.

Both the countries signed a landmark agreement to facilitate a hassle-free transit for Sikh pilgrims to visit the historic gurdwara.

Last month, the two sides also agreed for VISA-free travel of Indian pilgrims to Gurudwara Darbar Sahib using the Kartarpur Corridor. This will strengthen the relationship between India and Pakistan.
