Keep An Eye On All The Incidents That Could Be Potential Superspreader: Centre To All States & Uts Ahead Of New Year

Mumbai: In view of the New Year celebrations, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote a letter to all states and union territories on Wednesday asking them to stop the mob.

Bhushan directed the states and union territories to keep an eye on all the incidents that could be potential superspreader.

Genome sequencing has occurred in 107 samples in India so far, and 20 UK returns have tested positive for the new ‘more infectious’ coronavirus virus.

Yesterday six patients were found to be infected with the mutant virus.

“The Union Health Secretary has written to all states to closely monitor all events that could be a potential ‘superspreader’ events, and to curb crowding in the wake of the New Year celebrations and various events associated with it as well as on-going winter season,” said the ministry in a statement.

The Health Secretary further stated that states have been asked to assess the local situation and views on December 30 and 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021, before imposing appropriate sanctions. And according to the assessment of the situation, local restrictions were imposed on the UT to spread COVID-19.
