Kejriwal Is A Migratory Bird Visiting Various States: Navjot Singh Sidhu

Mumbai: Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday continued his scathing attack against AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and termed the Delhi Chief Minister as a “migratory bird”.

According to Sidhu, Arvind Kejriwal is touring different states to woo people with false promises but is finally returning to the national capital.

Speaking at a press conference held at his residence, Navjot Sidhu slammed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for making false promises to the people of Punjab, reports news agency PTI.

The Punjab Congress president claimed that the AAP leader has no roadmap for Punjab and wants to drive the state away from Delhi.

“How can he (Kejriwal) think better for Punjab when there is not even a single Punjabi in his Cabinet,” Sidhu questioned.

When asked about AAP’s ‘Janta Chunegi Apna CM’ drive, Navjot Singh Sidhu called the exercise a drama: “It is a drama to befool Bhagwant Mann. I have deep respect for my old friend Mann who calls me guru. Kejriwal in Delhi did not seek such public’s advice and wasted no time to sit on the chair of the CM”.

Responding to a question about some Congress leaders becoming rebels after the announcement of the first list of candidates, Sidhu revealed that he urged them to support the party and said that he would try to pacify them if necessary.

He further said that if Congress returns to power after the elections, it will work to generate more jobs in the state.

He also talked about his Punjab model, which emphasized a roadmap to generate more revenue for the state from liquor and sand mining.

According to Sidhu’s Punjab model, the plan was to start Punjab e-governance with a single-window service.

The Punjab Congress chief claimed that any kind of government service like obtaining a driving license, obtaining a death or birth certificate would be hassle-free with this e-portal.

Notably, Sidhu’s remarks came after Arvind Kejriwal said that the AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Punjab Assembly elections would be announced on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, accepting the demand of political parties, the Election Commission on Monday decided to hold the single-phase Assembly election in Punjab on February 20 instead of February 14 in view of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
