Kerala HC Restrains Police From Arresting Sunny Leone In Cheating Case

Mumbai: Kerala High Court on Wednesday restrained the police from arresting actress Sunny Leone and two others on a complaint filed by an event management company.

The court asked the Crime Branch of the Kerala Police probing the case not to arrest the trio until they were given notice as per criminal procedures.

Earlier this month in the state capital, the actress was questioned by Kerala police in the same case at a private resort where she explained the entire sequence of events and claimed that she did not commit any wrongdoing.

Shiyas conducting events in and around Kochi. The Shiyas had lodged a complaint with the Kerala DGP that Sunny Leone had taken Rs 29 lakh from them, promising to attend various inauguration ceremonies in the state, but failed to do so.

The complainant stated that her manager had taken money in several instalments since 2016, promising to participate in five tasks. But this did not happen and they later complained to the police.

According to her, the event manager could not comply with their dates, acknowledging that their manager had taken the money and given dates several times and hence this problem arose.

With the relief from the court, Sunny Leone and her associates will have to cooperate with the police probe team.
