Kerala High Court Grants Bail To Activist Rehana Fathima

Mumbai :  The Kerala High Court granted conditional bail to Rehana Fathima, who was arrested for allegedly hurting the spirit of religion through Facebook post.

On September 30, Rehana was arrested by Pathanmthitta police she was accused for an Facebook post, a picture was dressed like a ‘Ayappa devotee’ with ‘Thathavamasi’.

Earlier, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Patnamthitta had rejected her bail plea.

During the bail, she was ordered to not comment or post, which would hurt the spirit of any religion or the spirit of people and she shall not enter the limits of Pampa police station.

According to a report, Fathima tried to enter the temple with a woman journalist, but she came back halfway because of protest, due to which her house was allegedly destroyed by the people.

The police has booked her for crimes under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, religious feelings, or any section intended to insult the religion or religious beliefs by insulting it) and 505 (for any class or Encourage the community of individuals to commit a crime against someone other sections of the IPC or community).
