KKR Beats KXIP By 7 Wickets, One Step Away From PlayOffs

Mumbai: Do or Die Match for both the teams as KKR and KXIP have chances to reach playoffs if they win today.

Batting first KXIP got poor start has both the openers failed to score the runs lost both of them on power play itself Rahul scored 2 runs whereas Gayle contributed just 12 runs.

It was a good partnership between Mayank Agarwal and Nicholas Pooran played well but soon lost their wickets failed to convert it into big score Mayank 36 (26) and Pooran 48 (27).

KXIP was losing will on a continue basis was it seemed they would be restricted at 150 itself but it was Sam Curran who played at Fifth gear scored 55 runs off just 25 balls due to which KXIP managed to set defendable score of 183 runs.

For KKR Sandeep Warrier took two wickets following Russell and Rana provided one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 184 runs KKR started of well both openers 50+ runs in powerplay itself but Chris Lynn lost his wicket to Andrew Tye.

The way KKR was batting almost the match was in their pockets but soon they lost two wickets of Robin Uthappa and dangerous batsman Andre Russell who failed to contribute today.

Shubman Gill was building his innings well which helped KKR to stay in the game and with the help of captain Dinesh Karthik KKR registered their sixth match of the season and moved a step closer to playoffs. Gill scored 65 runs off 49 balls and Karthik contributed well of 21 runs.

For KXIP it almost end for this season having outside chance they will face their last match against one of the best team in IPL CSK.

Meantime KKR will play against inform team Mumbai Indians which will be the last league match of this season and it will decide if they will reach to playoffs or not.
