Kohli Adds Another Feather To His Cap As He Smashes Most Double Hundreds By An Indian In Test

Mumbai: Adding another feather to a cap Captain Virat Kohli scored his seventh double ton and he now has the most number of 200 plus scores for an Indian batsman.

Kohli surpassed Virender Sehwag in terms of scoring the highest double century for an Indian batsman. Sehwag had scored six scores of 200 plus in Test cricket.

The Indian captain has scored all his double centuries since 2016. With this innings, the batsman has surpassed the 7000 run mark in the longest format of the game.

Kohli now has 9 scores of 150 plus while captaining India, whereas Bradman had 8 scores of more than 150.
The 30-year-old Kohli also surpassed former Australia batsman Don Bradman to record the highest score of 150 plus as a captain.

Kohli is now ranked 53rd on the all-time list of leading run-scorers in Test cricket. Kohli now also has the most runs as an Indian captain. He went after former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.

Earlier this year, Kohli surpassed Dhoni to become the most successful Indian Test captain.

With this knock, Kohli also surpassed former cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar in the run-scoring chart, Vengsarkar had 6,868 runs.

The 30-year-old Kohli had 27 wins to his credit before the second Test match against the West Indies, but with this win, Kohli took his win to 28 wins in the longest format of the game.

He registered his 26th Test century on Friday and as a result, became the first Indian to score 40 hundred as skipper.

Kohli had gone past former captain Sourav Ganguly to achieve the feat.

This was Kohli’s 12th overseas Test victory. He broke the record in his 26th match as skipper on foreign soil.
