Kohli Just Needs One Good Innings To Return Back To Form: Deep Dasgupta

Mumbai: Ex-India cricketer Deep Dasgupta has said Virat Kohli only needs one good inning to return back to form.

On several occasions, the former Indian skipper looked in good form but failed to convert it into crucial scores. In recent times, awkward outings with good deliveries from Kohli at the crease have often spoiled Kohli’s time.

Claiming that Virat Kohli is batting ‘beautifully’, Deep Dasgupta told Jagran TV, “In T20 you need to take risks…sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but Virat is batting beautifully. Though questions are being raised about his form, I believe he just needs one good inning to return back to form. Virat is one of the bests India has ever produced. There’s no doubt about it.”

Dasgupta further said that Kohli looks far from a batsman in poor form, “Virat is going through a tough phase. Take yesterday’s example, his flick, the straight drive was unbelievable! Whenever he is playing, it does not look like he is out of form. I don’t feel he played a bad shot yesterday, maybe it was just his luck.”

Kohli recently performed brilliantly in the third T20 match against England that concluded at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Looking at a big target, this ace batsman took an aggressive approach with the word Go. After hitting two fours, Kohli was caught inside the circle by Jason Roy for 11 runs.

Virat Kohli will have a chance to be back among the runs during the upcoming ODI series against England. He is, however, a doubt for the first contest tomorrow (July 12) after sustaining a groin strain.
