K’tka Voted For Stability, PM Modi After BJP’s Victory In State By-Polls

Mumbai: Taking dig on opposition citing the result trends of Karnataka by-polls, PM Modi asserted that the people of Karnataka had witnessed corruption and ‘laxity in development’ duringthe  tenure of Congress-JD(S) government and hence have voted BJP.

He also said that the by-election results of this state are a message to all states where anyone betrays public mandate.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came at a time when BJP was leading in nine seats in Karnataka in the by-election results and won all three.

Speaking at an election rally here, Modi said, “Today the people of Karnataka have proved that Congress and JD-S will not be able to cheat them. This is a message to all the states of the country that if anyone will go against thepublic.. To mandate and betray people, the citizens will punish them at the first opportunity. “

Modi also spoke about the political tension in the state of Karnataka soon after the Karnataka assembly election results.

“Earlier people had giventhe  mandate to BJP to forma government but Congress played behind the scenes and managed to stopthe  formation of BJP government. But today people punished them because BJP candidates are winning most seats in the by-elections. Or moving forward, ”the Prime Minister said.

“I show my faith in the BJP and thank the people of the state for choosing stability and development,” he said.

So far, BJP has won three seats and is leading in nine, while Congress is leading in two seats and an  Independent candidate in one.

Elections were held for the 15 assembly seats vacated after the MLAs resigned in July, breaking the Congress-JDS alliance and paving the way for the BJP to come to power.
