Lalbaughcha Raja Ganesh Utsav Celebrations Cancelled In View Of COVID-19 Pandemic

Mumbai: For the first time in history Lalbaughcha Raja one of the famous Ganapati pandals in Mumbai has decided that Lord Ganpati’s idol will not be established due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. 

The Lalbagcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal of Mumbai has decided not to organize Ganeshotsav this time in view of the coronavirus epidemic and instead they will organize a blood donation camp, Mandal officials said. 

Officials said, “The Lalbaughcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal of Mumbai has decided that they will not celebrate Ganeshotsav in view of the COVID-19 pandemic this time. They will not install the idol of Lord Ganpati and will do social work during those 11 days of the festival. “

“A blood donation camp, a plasma donation camp will be set up in one place. In addition, they will honor the families of the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives on the LOC or LAC borders. This is the first time in the history of Lalbaughcha Raja that Ganpati Idol will not be established,” the officials added.

Each year, Ganeshotsav is celebrated in a grand manner in Mumbai, where lakhs of devotees visit the congregations to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.

 Maharashtra is one of the most virus affected states by COVID-19. According to the state Health Department, there were 1,74,761 coronavirus cases reported in the state on Tuesday.
