Mumbai: The Law Ministry of Pakistan told PM Imran Khan on Friday that the government cannot take the Kashmir issue to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) after Pakistan PM Khan said that he would take up the Kashmir issue with the ICJ.

The ministry said that no agreement has been reached between Pakistan and India to take the Kashmir issue to the ICJ.

However, the Ministry suggested that the Prime Minister may raise the matter to the United Nations General Assembly or the Security Council so that it could be referred to the ICJ through the appropriate channel.

This move comes after Pakistan government asked the law ministry about the criteria of moving ICJ over the Kashmir conflict.
