Lesbian Couple Beaten Up And Robbed In London Bus

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, two women were beaten and robbed in London bus, one of the victims said their attackers tried to force them to kiss each other.

The incident took place in the early hours of May 30 after the women, in their 20s, boarded a night bus in West Hampstead

A police statement said, “When they used to sit at the top deck, they were contacted by a group of four men who started making them lewd and homophobic remarks.”

“The women were then attacked and punched several times before the males ran off the bus. A phone and bag were stolen during the assault.”

Both women were treated in the hospital for facial injuries.

Police said four people from 15 to 18 years have been arrested, and they were looking for other suspects.

The 28-year-old Melania Geomont told BBC Radio that the men started bothering him when they came to know that she and her girlfriend Chris were a couple.

“They surrounded us and actually started talking about offensive stuff, sexual situations, homosexuals and the claim that they could see us,” she said.

“To reduce the situation, I tried to make some jokes, like Chris did not understand because he did not speak English, she acted as if she was sick … but they started throwing coins. Next thing I know Chris, in the middle of the bus and they’re killing her.

“So I immediately went there by impulse and tried to pull her out of there and they started punching me. I was really bleeding.”

Detective Superintendent Andy Cox said: This was a disgusting attack on two women who appear to have been picked out and targeted by a group of youths.
