Lockdown 5.0 Guidelines Out: Centre Allows Opening Of Religious Places, Restaurants Lockdown Extended Till June 30

Mumbai: After more than two months and 4 phases of lockdown in the country, Ministry Of Home Affairs issued guidelines for ‘Unlock 1.0’ opening almost everything in the country except for Containment zones.

Areas outside the containment zones in the country will be opened in coming one month in 3 phases, and SOPs to do so will be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a phased manner.

In Phase I religious places and places of Worship for public, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services, and shopping malls will be permitted to open from June 8, 2020.

In Phase II, schools, colleges, educational training/ coaching institutions, etc, will be opened after consultations with States

and UTS. State Governments/ UT administrations are being advised to hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders. Based on the feedback, a decision on the re-opening of these institutions will be taken in the month of July 2020.

Phase III based on the assessment of the situation date’s for restarting International Air travel, Metro Rail, Cinema halls, Gymnasium, swimming pools, theater’s and similar places will be decided. 

Night curfew will be strictly implemented in the country between 9.00 pm to 5.00 am, except for essential activities.

There is no relaxation given by the government in the containment zones. Lockdown in these zones is extended till 30th June 2020. 

States/ UTs may also identify Buffer zones outside the Containment Zones, where COVID19 cases are likely to increase.

Government has allowed intra-state and inter-state movement of persons and goods in the Unlock 1.0, no special permit will be required for such movements.

Guidelines as protection of vulnerable persons such as Senior citizens, pregnant women, children and use of Aarogya Setu App are also issued by the MHA in this ‘Unlock 1.0’

COVID19 cases are increasing in thousands day-by-day in the country, at such times lifting up the restrictions may be lethal if people do not follow social distancing norms.
