‘Lone Wolf’ Abu Yusuf, Suspected ISIS Operative Plotting In Delhi Arrested: 2 IEDs, Pistol Recovered

Mumbai: In a huge development, a suspected ISIS group has been arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on the ridge road between Karol Bagh to   Kuan after a fire broke out last night. He has been identified as Abu Yusuf Khan.

Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and a pistol have also been recovered from the mine. Police said, “I was found in the pressure cooker. The weight is not clear yet, it will be confirmed after investigation.”

Authorities believe Khan had visited several locations in the city and was plotting a lone wolf attack.

An ISIS operative with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) was arrested by our Special Cell after the exchange of fire at Dhaula Kuan, ”said Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Delhi.

Security forces have been stationed near the Buddha Jayanti Park in the Ridge Road area from where the ISIS operative was arrested. They are now defusing the bomb. The operative has now been brought to the Special Cell Office of Delhi Police in Lodhi Colony.

Commandos from the National Security Guard and sniffer dogs have been pressed into action to comb the entire area from where the Islamic State operative was nabbed.

The police claim Khan was a lone wolf operative who had on his own planned an attack in the national capital.
