Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath Announces Resignation Ahead Of Floor Test Today

Mumbai: Congress leader Kamal Nath has announced his resignation from the post of CM of Madhya Pradesh a few hours before the floor test in the state assembly.

This came when the Supreme Court directed the state to conduct a floor test by 5 pm on Friday. Many legislators resigned from the assembly after Jyotiraditya Scindia quit the Congress and joined the BJP.

“I have decided to tender my resignation to the Governor today,” he said while addressing a press conference in Bhopal.

Addressing the press conference, Kamal Nath said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had tried to “destabilize” his government, adding that his government tried its best to give the state a new direction in a span of 15 months.

“In the last 15 months, I have worked for the progress of Madhya Pradesh. BJP got 15 years, but I got only 15 months, but in the meantime, the people of Madhya Pradesh have come to know of this conspiracy that BJP has one day I have joined BJP. The party also held our MLAs captive in Karnataka. 22 of our MLAs were held captive in Bengaluru. This was politics spending crores of rupees,” he said.
