Maha Govt Neglecting Farmers: State BJP Chief

Mumbai: State unit party president Chandrakant Patil on Wednesday said that BJP will BJP raise crop loss due to excessive rains in the Vidarbha region and other issues like inflated electricity bills in the next month’s winter session of the Maharashtra legislature

Addressing a press conference, Patil said that the Maha Vikas Agadi (MVA) government had neglected the farmers’ distress “among Arnab Goswami and other issues”.

Patil was replying to a question on the arrest of the editor-in-chief of Republic TV by Raigad police earlier in the day in the suicide case.

“Soybean and cotton crops were destroyed in the entire Vidarbha region due to floods caused by the retreating monsoon (last month). How will the government compensate them? Farmers’ issues are being neglected as new issues grow every day.

The BJP leader said, “What has the government done to deal with the increased electricity bills and the COVID-19 epidemic? The BJP will raise these issues in the winter session of the state legislature starting December 7.”

He alleged that the government is yet to give a special grant to those farmers who have regularly repaid their crop loan installments.

Patil listed pending issues like admission in class 11 between epidemic and online exams for final year college students.
