Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has received threat calls following his connection with the ongoing controversy involving actress Kangana Ranaut, PTI reported.
According to PTI sources, Deshmukh has received calls from various numbers from Himachal Pradesh and another location on Tuesday, and on Wednesday at around 6 am, sources said the callers asked the minister not to get into a dispute related to the actress.
PTI sources said, “The minister received five or so calls from Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. He received two more calls at around 6 am on Wednesday.”
One of the callers identified himself as Mrityunjay Garg.

Ranaut recently said that she fears the Mumbai Police more than the “film mafia”, and will prioritize security from her home state of Himachal Pradesh or the Center.
On Monday, Anil Deshmukh expressed surprise at the Centre’s decision to provide ‘Y-Plus’ security to Ranaut, who, he said, insulted Mumbai and Maharashtra with his remarks.
