Maha: Thane District Reports 1,277 New COVID Cases

Mumbai: A district official said on Tuesday that the COVID-19 case count in Thane district of Maharashtra rose to 1,82,776 as 1,277 people tested positive for infection.

The official said that in addition to the fresh cases on Monday, 27 casualties were recorded in the district, which was 4,616.

At present, the rate of recovery in the district is 88.35 percent, while the death rate is 2.53 percent.

He said that 16,669 patients were undergoing treatment in the district for infection.

Although Kalyan has recorded 44,064 COVID-19 cases so far, it has improved its recovery rate to 90.24 percent and brought the death rate to 1.94 percent, the official said.

In recent cases, Navi Mumbai was followed by 366, followed by Thane with 284 and Kalyan with 279 points.

The official said at least 38,632 people have been lodged in the Thane civic border, 44,064 in Kalyan, 38,468 in Navi Mumbai, and 19,421 in Mira Bhayandar.

He said that a total of 1,029 accidents have been reported in Thane so far, followed by 857 in Kalyan, 783 in Navi Mumbai, and 598 in Mira Bhayandar.
