The development comes amid heated discussions that Uddhav Thackeray may resign along with 40 of the Shiv Sena’s 55 MLAs along with rebel Eknath Shinde in Guwahati.

The future of the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP alliance in the state hangs in the balance after Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde revolted.

A total of 40 MLAs from Maharashtra, including 33 Shiv Sena and 7 independents, have extended their support to Eknath Shinde, who is staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati along with his army of MLAs.

Uddhav Thackeray has not keeping well for the past few months as he was recuperating from a cervical spine surgery which was done in November last year. Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was admitted to a private hospital in south Mumbai after testing Coronavirus positive.
