Maharashtra Congress Announces State-Wide Agitation Against Fuel Price Hikes

Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole on Wednesday announced a statewide agitation against the BJP-led central government over inflation, petrol diesel price hikes.

Along with the price hikes, the unit also pointed the policies that are weakening the common man financially.

“Various agitations will be done from 14th to 19th November,” Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole.

The prices of almost all essential commodities including cooking oil and vegetables are very high.

Today’s LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) price in Mumbai stands at Rs. 899.50 for a cylinder weighing 14.2 kg. This includes all the central and state taxes.

The price of petrol is Rs. 109.08 per litre, whereas diesel cost Rs. 94.14 per litre in Mumbai.

The central government took a crucial step on the eve of Diwali to give some relief to the common people from inflation. After fuel prices hit a record high, the Center cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10, respectively.
