Maharashtra Govt Announced A Pay Hike For Doctors On Contract
Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Friday announced a substantial hike in the salaries of doctors working in the fight against COVID19 pandemic on a contract basis.
Cabinet Minister Aditya Thackeray shared this information on his twitter handle saying,”
For doctors on contract and on bond, the Maharashtra State Govt has decided to not just enhance pay but bring at par. They are our COVID warriors and this was due.”

About a week ago, the government of Maharashtra had announced a salary cut for doctors working in the pandemic situation. Thackeray said that the order about the pay hike has also been reversed.
Accordingly, the doctors serving in tribal areas will get Rs 75,000 instead of Rs 60,000, whereas specialist doctors will be paid Rs 85,000 as compared to the earlier Rs 70,000.
“MBBS Doctors in other areas will see their honorarium rise to ₹70,000 from ₹55,000.
Specialist doctors in other areas will get an honorarium of ₹80,000 instead of ₹65,000,” CMO Maharashtra twitter.
