About a week ago, the government of Maharashtra had announced a salary cut for doctors working in the pandemic situation. Thackeray said that the order about the pay hike has also been reversed.

Accordingly, the doctors serving in tribal areas will get Rs 75,000 instead of Rs 60,000, whereas specialist doctors will be paid Rs 85,000 as compared to the earlier Rs 70,000.

“MBBS Doctors in other areas will see their honorarium rise to ₹70,000 from ₹55,000.

Specialist doctors in other areas will get an honorarium of ₹80,000 instead of ₹65,000,” CMO Maharashtra twitter.

Pay by the government had demoralized the frontline warriors working in this difficult time.
