Malan, Morgan Shines As England Levels The Series By 2-2

Mumbai: After the loss in 3rd T20 England made a good comeback as Malan hits his 1st T20I century. While England’s skipper, Morgan hits fastest T20I fifty for England. He achieved the feat in the side’s ongoing T20I match against New Zealand in Napier. Morgan scored his 50th run on his 21st ball and he surpassed wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler to break the record. Buttler had scored 50 off 22 balls against Australia at Birmingham in 2018. 

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. England hit a massive score of 241/3 in 20 overs. Innings was starred by Malan as his hit 103* off 51 balls including 9 fours and 6 sixes. While skipper Morgan joined him and registered fastest fifty and made 91 off 41 balls which included 7 fours and 7 sixes. Mitchell Santner was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand as he picked 2 wickets and conceded 32 runs. 

New Zealand looks good at the start as Guptill hit 27 from 14 balls including 3 sixes and 1 four but after his dismissal, none of the New Zealand batsmen looked convincing and the lost the match by 76 runs. Mathew Parkinson picked 4 wickets and conceded 47 runs.

David Malan was a man of the match for his first T20I century. He said,I’d say international hundreds don’t come around often, so it’s special. To do it at such a crucial time is pleasing.” Final and fifth T20 match of the series will be played on Sunday.
